Why isn't the government publicising it's new solar power initiative?
I don't get it.
The government are going to launch a 'clean energy cashback' scheme in April 2010 which will pay people for every unit of energy the produce, whether they then use what they generate or not.
This means that all sorts of buildlings could have solar installed, generate a good income (guarenteed for 25 years by the government), reduce their CO2 emissions, and provide loads of clean energy! AND the money you get from the Gov would more than cover the cost of installing the solar. It sounds brilliant!
So why aren't they shouting about it? Loads of people are trying to spread the word, see www.wesupportsolar.net as an example, but the Government is keeping very quiet.
Not wanting to upset the traditional power suppliers??
Possibly...

Help turn this thought into action.
Totally agree with your thoughts on the 'clean energy cashback'. We need to get people talking about this now so that they can be ready to go in April! The more money we can force the Govt to spend on encouraging solar the better!
We Support Solar already has loads of support from MPs, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, the RSPB, and the WWF along with loads of construction companies saying that we need more solar (they are interested in the job creation that a solar industry will bring). I think everyone should get involved.
At the moment We support solar are asking people to write to their MP's to put more pressure on the people deciding on the rate that will be paid for each unit of solar electricity. Sounds like a sensible idea and it's quick to do.
Hope you agree!
