The Rag Nag
Politely nag your favourite clothes company to make your clothes guilt-free
What did your jeans get up to before they were wrapped around your bum?
Backstage, the clothing industry can get pretty brutal. (And not just supermodels cat-fighting in dressing rooms.) Sweatshop workers in East Asia can earn as little as 10p an hour. And since leftover World War II nerve gas was first used as pesticide 50 years ago, the cotton industry has become one of its biggest users. Thousands of people die each year as a result.
Things are changing. Several small high profile designers and a handful of high street retailers have taken enormous leaps forward. But there’s still a long way to go.
It's not that hard. Retailers will change if we ask them to.
So clear two minutes, pick your favourite clothes company, and
The Nag will track how many nags companies are getting, and report back on the outcomes.
